OLD COLONY RR 1882 "Old Places & New People, or, Our Pigrimage, and What We Saw"  Story Book.  At first, I wasn't quite sure what to make of this book, considering all the cover has on it is an ink-etched illustration of a sailboat by the shore, and a poem, in black ink on olive-color cover.  The title is found only on the inside.  Just inside the cover and prior to the title page is a fold-out map of the Old Colony RR and connections, in very good shape.  Inside, you'll find a 38-page story which is presented very much like a typical book, along with several lovely ink-etched town scenes of Plymouth, Provincetown, Nantucket, and Old Fort.  Near the back, we have a price & location list of hotels and boarding houses along the RR, with full-page hotel ads to follow.  Behind that, we have yet another story, this one on "The Fall River Line", 5 pages.  Back cover shows an Old Colony RR ad for the Fall River Line.  Despite the fact that the book is rather frail, and chipped along the edges and corners of cover & first few pages, along with some minor stains, it is no doubt an EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY RARE book, and is priced accordingly ...5" x 8"...57p...$175.
